As the Washington Wizards enter the All-Star break, they’ll have questions to face about the rest of the year when they return next week.

The Washington Wizards have (finally) made it to the halfway point of the regular season. They’re mostly intact and are still in play for the Eastern Conference’s eighth seed. And they’ve got representation aplenty in this weekend’s festivities in Chicago.

Bradley Beal won’t be headed to All-Star weekend. No, he’ll be headed somewhere warm with his family for some much-deserved rest. Dāvis Bertāns will be featured in the 3-point Contest, while Moritz Wagner and rookie Rui Hachimura will participate in the Rising Stars exhibition.

It’s all fun and games, and relaxing and unwinding for players over the next five or six days. Until they return from vacation and punch back into their “nine to five.” But for the Washington Wizards front office, the All-Star break serves as an evaluation point for both this season and the future.

There are a number of questions the Wizards will have to answer in the back half of the year, some more pressing than others. Washington will assess their roster, players on the way out, those who will remain under contract past this season, and so much more.

Luckily, there are six days between now and their next basketball game post-break. We’ll take a look at three critical questions the Washington front office will face when gauging just where the club is at the mid-point of a largely forgettable season.
