Has it been successful?
Here’s your answer: Yes.
Why yes? Well, Rozier has arrived, officially.
Terry Rozier is averaging 17.8 points per game while shooting 41 percent from the floor. His defense has been acceptable with 1.0 steals per game, and he’s been durable, appearing in 53 of the Hornets’ 54 games. His 3-point shooting has improved from 35 percent a year ago to 38 percent this year.
Rozier has shown immense versatility on the floor and has become the player that a lot of people predicted he would become. He’s become an impressive focal point for the Charlotte Hornets franchise and his playstyle has allowed his teammates to succeed around him.
Although we’ve only watched half a season of “Scary Terry”, he’s shown the potential to be a scoring machine and poses a threat to opposing guards.
He still has a lot of areas to improve, such as his defensive ability and consistency. Defense is not necessarily his strong suit, but we could see a whole new beast if he can make those adjustments and improvements over the summer. For consistency, he needs to be able to score effectively every night, instead of every other night. It isn’t a huge problem, but adding that extra touch to his game will make him a higher echelon player.
The only negative that’s been seen is the fact that the Charlotte Hornets are at 18-36, which is poor, but that was expected.
Remember, in the NBA, there is always room for improvement, Rozier has shown that improvement.
