2. The second seed

Nobody will admit to fearing the mighty Milwaukee Bucks, but all the Eastern Conference contenders have one spot in the standings in mind: The second seed. That spot means your first-round opponent will likely be the floundering Brooklyn Nets in the seven seed, and it smooths the path to your Eastern Conference Finals date with the Bucks.

By delaying the matchup, one never knows what may befall the Bucks along the way. The second-seeded team would also allow the 3-vs-6 and 4-vs-5 matchups to beat each other to a pulp in what should be two physically demanding series regardless of what combination of teams fills those spots. In any case, the Raptors have a 2.5 game lead over the Boston Celtics in third, and keeping that spot is of the utmost importance
