With the All-Star Weekend being just around the corner, some Los Angeles Lakers stars have made a huge impact in their tremendous first half of the season.

The Los Angeles Lakers went through a complete overhaul during the 2019 offseason, as they quickly went from rebuilding to contending. After failing to qualify for the 2019 playoffs, changes were needed in LA.

Through numerous signings and trades, the young and promising core was replaced by a win-now superstar in Anthony Davis and a group of veterans with playoff experience.

As a result, it’s no surprise the Los Angeles Lakers are one of the top teams in the Western Conference. Despite the fact that the West now had more contenders than ever before, the Lakers have managed to trample every single one of them, edging closer and closer to locking up the top seed.

Things seem to be going according to plan in Los Angeles. Even better, one might argue. The Lakers are currently on pace to win more than 60 games, something that has been achieved 11 times in team history.

Fun fact: Each of these 11 times, the team went on to win the NBA Championship. So…no pressure guys. Their current winning percentage of 76.9 percent ranks fifth in franchise history, as things are looking more and more promising for purple and gold.

Unfortunately, there are no such things as team awards, though it would be a great indication of who’s the most valuable member of a team. These midseason awards will hopefully untangle the topic of the Lakers’ greatness this season.
