Physical/Mental

The read on Anthony Edwards is that overall he’s a good kid with a lot of room to grow and the personality to bring everything together.

When watching him, it’s easy to see him communicating with his teammates, encouraging them and praising their efforts. He laughs on the floor and exudes pure joy, taking pride in the play of himself as well as his teammates.

That kind of outlook and approach to the game can’t be understated, as it’s important to come into every game wanting to put on a show and help others achieve their goals. Considering Edwards is likely to be a top pick in the draft and viewed as a leader in the locker room, it’s easier to hand responsibility to someone who’s happy to be there.

Physically, it’s been alluded enough that he has the tools to succeed at the next level. Not every guard coming into the league is as developed physically as Edwards is. Just as people said about Zion Williamson as he came into the NBA, although not nearly the same body type, Edwards can come right in and make an impact without having to worry about physically maturing to the point of being able to do simple things on the court.

In terms of where his body could end up, it’s unlikely he gets much bigger as far as pure muscular size is concerned. There’s no doubt he will get stronger as he gets with a professional training staff and likely makes the right adjustment to diet and conditioning.
