Denver Nuggets

In: Gerald Green, Keita Bates-Diop, Noah Vonleh, Shabazz Napier, 2020 HOU 1st
Out: Malik Beasley, Juancho Hernangomez, Jarred Vanderbilt

The Nuggets add depth at key areas in their rotation, specifically point guard with the addition of Napier. He’ll fill in alongside Monte Morris until Jamal Murray works himself back to full strength.

Napier, 28, is shooting a career-worst 28.6 percent from 3-point range but is having his best year passing with a career-high 32.1 percent assist rate. Though his turnover rate is the highest its been — 19.1 percent — since his rookie season.

Vonleh and Bates-Diop will factor on the wing and at the four as versatile forwards. They’ll come in handy with Paul Millsap missing the last 14 games with a knee injury, though he’s currently considered day-to-day.

More. Dear Nuggets: Please trade for Holiday. light

Initially, their involvement didn’t make a lot of since but adding a first-round pick and obtaining these pieces could be angling for a bigger trade, perhaps for Jrue Holiday as some are speculating — but that’s all it is. Though as mentioned previously, Wojnarowski reported they’re looking to make moves still.

Grade: C

It seemed like there would be more value for Beasley alone, which makes this an odd involvement in a trade, which was clearly to shuffle money and use their extra roster spot, which gained a first-round pick as a result. It’ll be interesting to see how Denver approaches the rest of the deadline and implements its depth.
