Golden State Warriors

There’s one player who seems to be desired above all others this trade deadline, and that is D’Angelo Russell. The Golden State Warriors guard has been lusted after by the Minnesota Timberwolves for what seems like an eternity now. The interest seems to be mostly one-sided with the Warriors being unenthusiastic, but as we near the deadline the moribund Timberwolves might get desperate and just make it happen.

Houston Rockets

Just about every rumor you hear about the Houston Rockets revolves around their desire to ship Clint Capela out of town. Knowing Rockets ownership, they’ll probably sell cheap in the hopes of ducking the luxury tax. They’re just more than $300,000 over the tax, so it shouldn’t be too hard to bring back less salary than Capela’s $14.9 million 2019-20 number.

Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers are another team that looks to be quiet at the trade deadline. Re-integrating Victor Oladipo into the lineup as he gets back into game shape is the top priority for the Pacers, and they won’t want to do much to upset the balance of the roster as they ramp up for their post-All-Star playoff push. Myles Turner has been a name that has come up in occasional trade buzz, but there doesn’t seem to be much to it. That said, for this exercise, we’ve got to pick a player, so Turner it is.
