Ilyasova is in his second stint with the Bucks and has been very productive in his 16.5 minutes in 45 games this season. He’s shooting 38.2 percent from 3-point range this season and is playing as well defensively as he has in his career.
Covington would add length to the Bucks lineup, especially the second unit. It would give Milwaukee more confidence defensively in its second unit.
D.J. Wilson‘s agent wanted him to get some playing time with the Wisconsin Herd — Milwaukee’s G League team — to stay in rhythm, according to Ti Windisch. It’s an interesting decision given the timing of the trade deadline. He’s playing 9.0 minutes per game and has only appeared in 26 games, sitting the last four. The 6’10” forward was selected 17th overall in 2017.
The Bucks don’t have much in terms of picks to offer due to the Stepien rule. They could offer a 2024 1st, but that’s so far down the road that it could get some heavy protections on it. If nothing else, Minnesota adds the Pacers’ first, currently slotted for 18th overall, and gets a pair of contracts that would expire in 2020.
