Detroit Pistons: Examining the best trade partners for Andre Drummond
Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks are an interesting case. They are one player short of being a true contender, despite how well the team can play. To get out of the West you will have to beat a team in Los Angeles over a seven-game series.
The Mavericks have lost their season series to the Los Angeles Lakers 3-1 and lost their only match up so far with the LA Clippers. They have serviceable centers but none of them are going to tip a playoff series in the favor of the Mavericks.
Drummond would be a solid addition to this lineup and he would make them very hard to beat. His rim protection and rebounding are keys to helping the Mavericks take the next step.
For the Mavericks to get Drummond they are going to need to pay. That is the nature of a win-now franchise. Dwight Powell is a natural piece as Drummond takes his place in the starting lineup. He is also good enough to start for Detroit in the rebuild
They acquire Courtney Lee‘s expiring contract as this is needed to match salaries. Seth Curry adds value to this trade due to his 3-point shooting, which will keep the Detroit Pistons well within the top five in the NBA in the category.
