Detroit Pistons: Examining the best trade partners for Andre Drummond
With the Detroit Pistons actively shopping Andre Drummond, it is time to take a look at the best trade partners for the center.
With their season being wrecked by injury, the Detroit Pistons are looking to get something out of it by moving their best trade asset Andre Drummond. The Pistons were meant to be in the playoffs this season. However, due to a series of unfortunate injuries they are looking like they are porbably lottery bound.

Two of their big three have not been available for much of the season, Reggie Jackson due to his back and Blake Griffin due to his knee. Griffin will not return after undergoing knee surgery.
Whether Jackson returns will depend on his health and if the Pistons want to risk him, should he become available. One spot and three games out of eighth place, a case can be made that the Pistons could potentially make a run at this spot.
However, shopping Drummond, who is averaging 17.3 points, 15.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.8 blocks per game, says the Detroit Pistons are looking at a rebuild. Looking at the Oklahoma City Thunder and the success they have had after losing their two best players, this may be possible.

The Pistons have one problem in trading Drummond. He has stated that he will likely opt out of the final year of his contract and test free agency. This is certainly the season to do so with the free agency talent pool being shallower than it has in a while.
So after expressing his desire to be with the Detroit Pistons for life, Drummond appears unhappy with the loyalty shown by the franchise. This gives the Pistons even greater motivation to get something back for their star pivot.
With that being said, almost every team in the NBA would give up something for the chance at having Drummond on their roster. Let’s take a look at what the Pistons may get back for the big man.
