A 3-1 week has the Phoenix Suns moving in the right direction again, just two games in back of eighth-place Memphis in the Western Conference, while winning at Boston for the second consecutive season by holding off the Celtics down the stretch after taking an early 16-point lead. That win came on the heels of a blowout victory at New York on Thursday.
It wasn’t 70 points, but Devin Booker lit up the Celtics on Saturday night, scoring 39 points with 10 rebounds and nine assists. For the week, he averaged 29.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.5 steals in 35.2 minutes per game over four games, shooting 50.0 percent overall while hitting just 27.3 percent on 5.5 3-point attempts per game.
His 91.1 percent on 11.3 free throws a game helped offset the cold shooting from deep.

The Orlando Magic picked up a couple of nail-biting wins before taking a pair of convincing thumpings in their four games in California last week. On Monday, Aaron Gordon beat Sacramento with a three-point play with 1.1 seconds left. Wednesday, Nikola Vucevic put the Magic up to stay with 2:03 remaining in a stunning win over the Lakers in L.A.
On Monday, Orlando has a chance to close a six-game transcontinental road trip with a 3-3 mark with a win at Charlotte.
It was a rough week for Vucevic overall, even as he averaged his usual double-double. He put up 20.0 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 33.0 minutes per game, but shot just 41.1 percent overall, making 40.9 percent on 5.5 attempts a game from deep.
