Ranking the best trade destinations for Detroit Pistons big man Andre Drummond
1. Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics are the fourth-best team in the Eastern Conference right now. They are doing this with the services of a quality center. They have Daniel Theis, Robert Williams and Enes Kanter, none of whom can match it with the best in the NBA.
Adding Andre Drummond to this squad would plug the only hole on the roster, which is why they have expressed interest, according to Goodwill.
Theis is currently starting and while he is averaging 11.7 points and only 3.2 rebounds per game. The Celtics are currently 13th in total rebounds.
If Drummond is on this team, this weakness will not be able to be exploited when the season comes to the business end. With Drummond on the team the Celtics are almost a lock to make it out of the East.
The Celtics will have to give something up for Drummond, most probably Gordon Hayward, but they have enough talent on their roster to cover this loss. This is certainly the best place for Drummond, he has the greatest chance of winning a championship
Wherever he goes, Drummond is going to make a massive difference to the team he ends up on. The Detroit Pistons are going to want to gets a good haul back for him and the Celtics will have to rely on their winning culture to hope they can secure Drummond long term. If the Pistons do trade him, if they choose a contender, then they can become kingmakers.
