The Detroit Pistons are actively engaged in trade talks for Andre Drummond in an effort to get something out of this season. It is time to rank the destinations from worst to best.

The Detroit Pistons season has certainly not gone to plan. Blake Griffin’s season is done thanks to knee surgery and Reggie Jackson has played in two games all year. The Pistons are a lottery team instead of reaching the playoff contender status many thought they would.

More from Hoops Habit

This is certainly not the fault of Andre Drummond, who is having another tremendous year. He is averaging 17.3 points, 15.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.8 blocks per game. He is by far the best trade asset the Pistons have right now.

As a result, the Pistons are actively shopping Drummond to see who will give them the most for the best rebounding player of his generation. Drummond has stated that he wants to remain a Piston for life but with the buzz circulating around the league, that appears unlikely.

Drummond also has a player option on his contract this summer and could command a hefty salary if he opts out and tests free agency. It looks as if he will test the free agency waters, which motivates the Pistons even more to look into a trade. Getting something for him rather than him possibly leaving for nothing would be preferable.

The Pistons have shown in the past that they are going to do what they believe is right for the franchise. Remember when they signed the Morris twins to team-friendly contracts on the understanding that they would play together?

While every team in the NBA would like the services of Drummond, there are not that many who have the assets required to secure him. Take the Golden State Warriors as an example. Drummond would be a tremendous upgrade for them at the center position, they have no capital to trade for him.

This leaves us with five teams who have expressed interest in Drummond, to be ranked from five to one as the best place for Drummond’s talents.
