2. Who are the Timberwolves targeting?

An empty roster spot is about as good as Kwame Brown in this league, so of course the Minnesota Timberwolves are going to be looking to fill that spot by the trade deadline. But that leaves us with the question: who exactly are they targeting?

Jon Krawczynski and Shams Charania of The Atlantic are reporting the Timberwolves are ramping up their pursuit of Golden State Warriors star D’Angelo Russell, but also admit that a trade is unlikely unless the Warriors are blown away by the offer.

Meanwhile Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer suggested Minnesota might be going after Indiana Pacers guard Aaron Holiday, but that also looks to be stalling.

It has been reported that Cleveland Cavaliers big man Kevin Love is on the trading block, but would he be willing to go back to a franchise that so infamously angered him? Minnesota has expressed interest in Dennis Smith Jr., but would the package the New York Knicks would want for him hurt the Wolves even more?

And then of course, since the league has been starved of trades up to this point, we’ve all been missing the “Huh?” trade. A trade so baffling and out of nowhere that it just makes us all sit back and scratch our heads (shout out to Kristaps Porzingis going to the Dallas Mavericks from last season or literally anything the Oklahoma City Thunder did last offseason.)

Could Minnesota, with a lack of any realistic targets, be the front runner for that trade this year?
