2. Davis Bertans

Davis Bertans has been on a tear with the Washington Wizards this season. He has taken 8.6 3-point attempts per game and made 43.6 percent of those. He’s averaging a career-high in points, rebounds, and assists.

In theory, he seems like a great fit. And for this season, he probably would be.

There are two main issues that keep him from leading the way on this list. One is that if he is available (which seems unlikely), plenty of teams will be clamoring for him. He can raise the ceiling and provide depth for a number of playoff-bound teams this year. The asking price is already high and is only going to go up if the Wizards open the floodgates on offers.

The other is that he’s an unrestricted free agent after this season. He could be out the door. If the Sixers don’t win a championship, those assets used to acquire him could be a total waste.

Then, his production for the team. Without a doubt, Bertans would be a net positive and would provide depth and spacing where the Sixers desperately need it.

His potential impact, however, is likely a bit exaggerated at first glance. He’s likely not going to find nearly nine 3-point shots per game in the Sixers offense in the same way he is finding them with the Wizards (Redick took eight per game last season). He would fill a more complementary role player than he is in Washington.

Again, that’s not to say his efficiency would plummet in Philadelphia, it’s just a matter of there only being so many possessions and opportunities available for the various offensive weapons the Sixers have.
