Philadelphia 76ers: Ranking each trade target they are rumored to be interested in
By Josh Wilson
5. Langston Galloway
Langston Galloway played college basketball in Philadelphia and might be the best realistic option for the Sixers to go after in the trade market.
Galloway is hitting 39.6 percent of his 5.2 attempts from beyond the arc in Detroit, logging 10.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.
It’s the best season of his career, but there have been questions about his place in the league before this.
When the pressure has been on, Galloway has stepped up in Detroit this season. When there are fewer than two minutes remaining in a quarter and the score is within five points, Galloway shoots 63.6 percent from beyond the arc. He has hit his one attempted shot in that category during the fourth quarter or overtime.
It is somewhat convenient that his contract expires this summer. The Sixers know as it stands Galloway is playing well and looking to prove himself in a contract year. They can evaluate him and get to know his character over the next few months while he concurrently helps solve an immediate issue, and re-sign him if they see fit.
If not, no worries. He can bring a skill to the table that will push them deeper in the playoffs and get a decent contract this summer with another team.
