Let’s run it back one more time

The 2016-17 season was clearly the last chance for the LA Clippers to accomplish something. Chris Paul was aging, as were J.J. Redick and Jamal Crawford, and the team could not avoid injuries this season. Paul and Blake Griffin only managed to play 61 games each and it did not get better in the playoffs.

Despite all of this, the Clippers still managed to win 51 games and earn the fourth seed yet again, this time facing the Utah Jazz.

It was a competitive series that went seven games to decide the winner, but once Griffin went down in Game 3, it did not look like they would have a chance of beating them.

This loss to the Jazz was the beginning of the end.

During the offseason, the Clippers sent Paul to the Rockets in exchange for Lou Williams, Sam Dekker, Montrezl Harrell, and others. This certainly was not one of the highest points for any Clippers fans at that time.

Though it is tough losing a player of such caliber, it was the right move to make, especially when two of those players are now key in the current championship run. However, this was just a start to what came next in the following season.
