Revisiting LA Clippers high points from the 2010s
A new sheriff in town
After a disappointing loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, the LA Clippers decided it was time for a change in management and sent two future draft picks to the Boston Celtics for Doc Rivers. Another major traded included a sign-and-trade deal for J.J Redick, who became one of the crucial players in their success.
Just like the previous season, they set another franchise record in wins in 2013-14 with 57.
This also included Jamal Crawford winning his second Sixth Man of the Year while also becoming the oldest recipient. During the season, he averaged 18.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists per game on 41.6 percent from the field, 36.1 percent from downtown, and 86.6 percent from the line.
Come playoff time, they were matched with the up-and-coming Golden State Warriors team, which ultimately ended in a tough seven-game win.
During that series, as most fans remember, there were threats that the Clipper players would boycott the series as a result of their owner, Donald Sterling, making racial remarks. This eventually led to him being banned from the NBA for life and forced to sell the team to the current owner Steve Ballmer.
After that series, the Clippers faced the Oklahoma City Thunder, in which there was some controversial officiating, along with lousy turnovers that led them to lose in six games.
