SG: Bradley Beal

The other half of DC’s electric guard duo, Bradley Beal was another lock for this All-Decade team. Beal has averaged more points per game than his backcourt counterpart John Wall in two fewer seasons and about 50 fewer games played.

Drafted third overall out of the University of Florida in 2012, Beal turned just 19 years old on draft night. Despite his youth, he was forced to develop quickly, playing over 30 minutes per game in every season.

The now two-time All-Star has held down the two-guard position for much of the decade, and at just 26 with at least two more seasons with the Washington Wizards will likely be there well into the 2020’s.

Beal did not have much competition for team of the decade. The Nick Young era ended very quickly after the drafting of Beal, while Jordan Crawford exited shortly thereafter.

Beyond Garrett Temple, whose position I questioned in the point guard slide, not a single shooting guard had more win shares than Young’s 4.3 in just two seasons this decade.
