With the departure of Jordan Clarkson and trade rumors piling up, the Cleveland Cavaliers are preparing to double-down on their young core.

It’s clear the franchise has faith in its developing prospects. Players such as Collin Sexton, Cedi Osman, Darius Garland and Kevin Porter Jr. have given glimpses of what they can be capable of moving forward.
Cleveland is 10-24, only five games out of the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. Though the team will likely miss the postseason for the second straight time, this is an improvement from last season.
The Cavaliers are playing with improved energy. Aside from some obvious frustration from veterans like Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson, the rest of the squad seems to enjoy playing with each other and are thriving in lineups together.

In particular, Garland and Porter are showing a unique brotherhood. Porter recently showed his appreciation for his teammate in a heartfelt Instagram post reflecting on 2019.
It’s possible that Love and Thompson will be traded soon, officially ushering in the rest of the Cavs young core. Let’s take a look at the three main stars (Porter, Garland and Sexton) and analyze how they will perform with increased expectations.
