4 realistic trades for disgruntled star Karl-Anthony Towns

Phoenix Suns
Ah, the Phoenix Suns. Off to a hot start that had everyone wondering if the long, dark rebuild was over, Phoenix has crashed back to Earth—and then some. Following a 7-4 start, the Suns have gone 5-16 over the last month and a half and are 11th in the West.
Deandre Ayton‘s 25-game suspension has nothing to do with this trade proposal. The truth is, the Suns can’t go back now. They have to go in with this core; it’s been too long and Devin Booker‘s prime is only so long. He deserves a proper running mate and Karl-Anthony Towns can absolutely be that guy.
Phoenix goes from sort of trying to legitimately trying. The duo of Booker and Towns can do real damage in the West, as Booker has proven this season not to be an empty calories scorer. The same would likely happen to Towns as this duo catapults Phoenix to a period of sustained success.
If you’ll notice, most of these trades are based on three first-round level pieces. That trend continues here as the Wolves get Ayton, one of the brightest young talents in the league, and two firsts from Phoenix.
In the grand scheme of things, chances are slim for Towns to actually get traded anytime soon. The Wolves are in no rush to trade him, and the new front office deserves a chance to build around him properly. But we’ve seen crazier before; Paul George forced his way out of Oklahoma City just a year after signing a three-year extension to stay.
Front offices will always do their due diligence on players like Towns, which means the unthinkable for some fans is thinkable for others.
