3. Miami Heat 2010s all-decade starting lineup
- Goran Dragic
- Dwyane Wade
- LeBron James
- Chris Bosh
- Hassan Whiteside
With four straight Finals appearances and consecutive titles, the Miami Heat’s Big Three of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh was spectacular, but not as much as it could’ve been.
Following their first year together, Wade began to tail off. He was still a perennial All-Star and one of the best at his position, but accumulated wear and tear zapped the future Hall of Famer of what made him Flash, at least to the point where he couldn’t do it consistently.
Bosh only really became a respectable 3-point shooter after LeBron left, canning 36.9 percent of his 4.0 attempts over a two-year stretch.
James, conversely, was at the peak of his powers in South Beach, still the physical force he’d always been but with an improved outside shot and newfound championship resolve with the weight of expectations off his shoulders.
Elsewhere in this lineup, a motivated Hassan Whiteside is a terrifying Hassan Whiteside. He’s an elite shot-blocker and rebounder — he’s previously led the league in rebounds and blocks per game –who draws so much attention diving to the bucket.
Goran Dragic isn’t an ideal fit alongside the Big Three, but he’s a capable off-ball presence who’s never seemed to have an issue downgrading into that type of role.
Think of the electric Wade who could explode through defenses and fight for that No. 1 spot in the league’s hierarchy at a point in time. Insert the version of Bosh who commanded space beyond the arc alongside an otherworldly LeBron and you have a trio more than worthy of the Big Three moniker with two others who will certainly pull their weight.
