16. Philadelphia 76ers 2010s all-decade starting lineup
- Ben Simmons
- Jrue Holiday
- Andre Iguodala
- Thaddeus Young
- Joel Embiid
There might not be a team on this list that better represents the stark contrast between paper and on-court cohesion better than these Philadelphia 76ers.
A couple of things to note. For starters, Jrue Holiday and Andre Iguodala were not the players you think of today when they were in Philly.
They weren’t bad. In fact, both made their line All-Star appearance as Sixers. Since then, however, they’ve evolved into their best selves, Holiday one of the best two-way guards independent of age and Iguodala a championship-savvy fill-in-the-cracks contributor at both ends.
Much of what plagues the 2019-20 Sixers is what will be this version’s downfall. As dominant an inside force as Joel Embiid is, Philly affords him little space to operate along with Ben Simmons as well.
There’s a limited supply of perimeter offense, and who on this team is capable of consistently closing out tight games?
Philly’s size and athleticism will hound opposing offenses into some tough shooting nights, but without much of a spark at the other end, it’s hard to rank among the best of the best when every team is loaded with similar talent.
