2. Phoenix Suns run past Sacramento Kings in season opener

Though this win may already seem like a million years ago to some Phoenix Suns fans, it was the one that got the ball rolling to begin the 2019-20 season.

It was a 124-95 victory over the Sacramento Kings to open the season in decisive fashion. Not only did the Suns look like a rejuvenated group, but like someone who could contend for a playoff spot.

The addition of Ricky Rubio seemed to cure the lack of ball distribution from past seasons, Deandre Ayton racked in his typical double-double and the rest of the starting lineup seemed to gel together quite well. That’s not even mentioning the Suns hitting 11 3-point shots, only a season removed from being one of the worst shooting teams from deep.

This overall played into one of the most complete games of basketball the Suns had played in a good deal of time. That momentum also seemed to carry into the first couple weeks of the season as Phoenix won five of its first seven games following the season opener. Though it seemed to wear off in more recent weeks and with the team’s current losing streak.

But looking back this was important moment from 2019 as the Suns showed they came to play after only winning 19 games in the previous season.
