Grading Minnesota Timberwolves through 11-game losing streak

3. Jeff Teague
Jeff Teague has had a bit of a roller coaster of a career, both in the NBA and with the Minnesota Timberwolves. At first, fans were excited about his massive assist numbers, but soon they started to wonder about the rest of his offensive game.
Over these last 11 games, Teague has averaged 16.5 points, 5.4 assists, and 3.0 rebounds on 51/58/87 shooting.
That shooting split actually deserves to have some more focus on it. While 51 percent from the field seems like a great statistic, Teague has been wildly inconsistent with his offensive production. He’s shot below 50 percent five times and he’s shot exactly 50 percent twice. In those four sub-50% games, Teague also has one game in which he didn’t make a shot.
Teague isn’t any better from 3-point range either. There, he’s shot below 50 percent three times and was blanked twice. In those eight games shooting above 50 percent, Teague averages 2.5 attempts a game.
Although, scoring isn’t always a No. 1 priority for a point guard. Over the last 11 games, Teague has recorded seven games with five or more assists and he’s also managed five games with four or more rebounds, which is a fairly good number for a 6’3″ point guard.
However, Teague even defies the definition of a prototypical point guard, as his defensive ability leaves much to be desired. Over the 11-game stretch, Teague has only recorded a steal in four games.
