4. Karl-Anthony Towns

Karl-Anthony Towns is having a quiet MVP caliber season, even on one of the worst teams in the league currently. Towns is averaging 27.1 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 5.4 assists over the last 10 games. Even better, he’s been doing this on a shooting split of 51.7 percent from the field, 38.3 percent from 3-point range and 83.6 percent from the free throw line.

Over the last 11 games, Towns has only shot below 50 percent three times and he’s only shot below 40 percent once. He’s scored under 30 points four times.

Unfortunately, Towns has missed the last four games of this stretch due to a sprained knee that happened with just a few seconds left in the loss to the Clippers. Minnesota has struggled without him and his loss (though it obviously doesn’t impact his grade) is a major one.

The biggest critique that can be lobbied towards Towns over the team’s last 11 games is his inconsistency in shooting the 3 ball. Towns did shoot over 50 percent from 3 in four of his seven games, but in all three that he didn’t he shot below 25 percent, with his highest mark being 22.2 percent and his lowest being 10 percent.

His inability to know when he has a cold hand hurts him too, as he averages seven attempted 3-point shots in his above 50 percent games and 8.6 attempted 3s in his sub-50 percent games.
