Christmas is known as the season of giving and the New York Knicks could sure use a handful of wishes from Saint Nicholas.
Even though believing in the existence of Santa Claus seems a little bit juvenile for non-kids, desperate times often call for desperate measures. Enter the New York Knicks.

After a rather disastrous 2019 where they struck out the draft and free agency as well as trades, the Knicks are by all definitions, desperate. As a result, would penning a letter to Santa be such a ridiculous idea?
If this letter was written 12 months ago, its content would be pretty easy to guess. The No. 1 pick in the draft, a.k.a. Zion Williamson, the addition of a superstar free agent like Kyrie Irving or Kevin Durant … and a healthy Kristaps Porzingis to go along with Kevin Knox‘s stellar December 2018 form.
Yikes.
Fast forward to today and the Knicks have Porzingis playing great … in Dallas, Kyrie and Durant teaming up in New York … but to play for the Brooklyn Nets, and no Zion Williamson, though that last one might have worked out for the best.

Being a Knicks fan comes with its responsibilities, like being patient during the ups and downs (using the term “ups” solely for the purpose of staying in a festive mood). It’s times like these that bring to mind a young fan’s wish for the Knicks to make the playoffs in 2014. Let’s hope that kid is of sound mind now.
So on Christmas Day 2019, let’s write down the most important, yet realistic presents the New York Knicks could “unbox.”
