Atlanta Hawks: 2010s All-Decade team
Bench player of the decade: Jamal Crawford
When you think about the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons for the Hawks, Jamal Crawford was the perfect example of a sixth man for the team. With Joe Johnson entrenched in the shooting guard role and Crawford more of a scorer at this point of his career, Crawford provided a great scoring boost off the bench.
You could argue that Crawford should have even been the starter over Mike Bibby during his tenure with the Hawks.

While many of the counting stats like rebounds, assists and steals per game were very similar in each season, Crawford was the better scorer and could have likely run the point just as well as Bibby.
It’s not that Crawford was the next superstar in the league, but when looking at advanced stats like PER, win shares per 48 minutes, and VORP, he could have easily cracked the starting lineup over others.
As a Hawk, Jamal Crawford won the first of his three Sixth Man of the Year awards (the other two came later in the decade with the Clippers) in 2009-10. He was also in the running in the 2010-11 season, but the award went to Lamar Odom that season. Crawford easily outshines the field for the Hawks’ bench player of the decade.
