The Portland Trail Blazers fought their way to the Western Conference Finals last season, only to be swept immediately. Despite the unfortunate end to their story, their 2018-19 season has to be remembered as a successful one. Poised for yet another great season, expectations were high for them in 2019-20.

That, unfortunately, was not the case for them, as they started the season with a record of 5-12 before adding Carmelo Anthony to the team, an acquisition that drastically helped shift their fortune.

The Blazers seem to be playing good basketball once again, though changes have to be made if they want to be anywhere near as good as last season. One of these changes would be the addition of a wing player as well as a backup point guard.

Rumors have been flying around for a potential trade that would send Hassan Whiteside to the New York Knicks, though this would be rather unrealistic as it would leave the Blazers incredibly short-handed at the center position.

Instead, Kent Bazemore‘s expiring contract, in addition to a young prospect in Skal Labissiere and a protected first-round pick, would be more than enough to let Marcus Morris join ex-Knick Carmelo Anthony in the Northwest.
