5 possible New York Knicks trade scenarios
5. Marcus Morris moved to a contender
Over the past few days, this is a trade that has been circling the trade rumors.
Marcus Morris has been a revelation this season so far, averaging 18.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. He’s doing all that while shooting a jaw-dropping 47.2 percent from the 3-point line. That puts him as the fourth-best 3-point shooter in the league, first if you account players with 100 or more 3-point attempts.
As a result, Morris has drawn some interest around the league. Contenders from both conferences view him as an ideal trade target as the New York Knicks would not ask for much in return. Just expiring contracts and draft picks.

By dealing him to the LA Clippers, the Knicks receive Maurice Harkless, who might be the perfect player to add to this NY team, considering his low price. Harkless will be a free agent in July and officially off the books salary-wise.
But what about until then? Two areas of play that the Knicks could use some improvement are defense and 3-point shooting. Harkless is a 3-and-D player who is bound to lead the way on the defensive end.
This deal would also include a swap of Jerome Robinson and Ignas Brazdeikis, simply to make the salaries match. Last but not least, the presence of a 2020 first-round pick makes this deal more than enticing for the Knicks.
