What Minnesota Timberwolves starters want for Christmas

Robert Covington: More touches
Robert Covington is probably the only positive part of the entire Jimmy Butler saga in Minnesota. Coming in that trade from the Philadelphia 76ers, Minnesota Timberwolves fans were excited about his defensive potential as he played either with the second-stringers or alongside Karl-Anthony Towns.
The biggest thing that would help Covington’s game is to increase his usage. Currently, Covington is averaging 12.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 1.1 assists, and 0.8 blocks per game on a shooting split of 44.7/35.7/88.7.
The problem is that Covington only has a usage rate of 17.2 percent, which is the second-lowest among the starters, only coming in above Josh Okogie. Covington is a consistent double-digit scorer and defensive stopper and he deserves to have his number called on in more possessions.
This is especially weird, considering that Covington is averaging 28.1 minutes per game. If Covington starts to see more touches during the time that he’s on the floor, he could provide some serious benefits to the first two options in KAT and Andrew Wiggins.
