What Minnesota Timberwolves starters want for Christmas

Josh Okogie: A 3-point shot
Josh Okogie has come along really well since his rookie season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, increasing his stats from 7.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.2 assists last season to 9.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists. He’s also bumped his shooting from 38.6 percent to 43.0 percent this season.
One area where Okogie could still see some improvement is in his 3-point shooting. From a brief look at his stats, his shot seems to be there. He’s shooting 31.7 percent from 3-point range and even that is an increase from last season, when he shot 27.9 percent.
The problems begin to crop up when you look at the box scores from individual games. In 11 of the 23 games he’s played in, Okogie has fired blanks from 3-point range, missing at least two shots in nine of those 11 games. He has only shot below 33 percent once, when he went 1-for-4 from 3-point range and he’s shot 100 percent three times, but each time was off of just one shot.
What his 3-point shot really needs is some consistency. If Okogie finds a more consistent shot, he’ll become a big threat for the Timberwolves.
