5 NBA Draft prospects for Cleveland Cavaliers to watch
By Tony Pesta
1. James Wiseman
James Wiseman has the potential to be everything the Cleveland Cavaliers need as a paint presence.
A gigantic center with a huge frame, Wiseman is wasting no time asserting himself as one of the best big men in college basketball.
Wiseman is 7’1″ and towers over his opponents. Through three games, Wiseman is posting 19.7 points, 10.7 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game. He is truly a force in the paint, controlling every aspect of the interior game.
The Cavaliers desperately need a talent such as Wiseman. They have consistently ranked towards the bottom of the league in blocked shots and routinely get punked by bigger teams.
Inserting Wiseman into the Cavaliers lineup would give the rest of the team an anchor to rely on defensively. If he continues to improve as a finisher around the rim, Wiseman can help create an interesting dynamic with the Cavaliers backcourt.
He still has a lot to prove with an unpolished offensive game but it appears Wiseman will have an instant impact as a shot-blocker in the NBA. He is the best fit for the Cavaliers and should be at the top of their wish list.
