2. Chicago Bulls defeat Atlanta Hawks 168-161 in quadruple overtime (Mar. 1, 2019)

The Bulls and Atlanta Hawks entered this matchup a combined 48 games under .500. With both teams out of the running for a playoff berth, no one could blame fans from either side if they opted not to tune in to this game.

Although this game didn’t generate a ton of buzz, and rightfully so, it turned out to be quite a memorable affair, where the outcome wasn’t decided until the fourth overtime period. When this marathon of a game finally concluded, the Bulls managed to escape with a 168-161 win — their 18th of the season.

The 329 total points between the two teams equaled the third-highest scoring game in NBA history.

The Bulls had a few players with noteworthy performances. Lauri Markkanen contributed with 31 points and 17 rebounds on 9-for-18 shooting from the field.

Otto Porter also chipped in with 31 points to go along with 10 boards and four dimes. Zach LaVine paced Chicago’s scoring attack with 47 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists.

All in all, the game proved to be very entertaining on multiple levels, considering that both teams finished near the bottom of the Eastern Conference.
