3 trades to speed up Cleveland Cavaliers rebuild
By Tony Pesta
2. Philadelphia 76ers
Something isn’t right in Philadelphia. The 76ers monster-sized lineup doesn’t seem like it works together and a trade could help open things up for this championship-contending squad.
Al Horford is certainly a talented player but his fit alongside Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons has been questionable. The 76ers would be better off slotting Kevin Love into the forward position and allowing Embiid to dominate the paint.
This trade helps Philly space the floor a bit more with a deadly shooter in Love. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers receive a great play-making big and a smart defender in Horford.
Most importantly, the Cavs walk away with a 2020 first-round pick, courtesy of the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder are currently a fringe playoff team in the West, but could easily fall into the lottery by the end of the season. As a result, this pick could wind up being a valuable one.
