3 trades to speed up Cleveland Cavaliers rebuild
By Tony Pesta
3. Toronto Raptors
Our first trade proposal involves the defending champions, the Toronto Raptors.
The Raptors are busy proving everyone wrong this season. In the aftermath of losing Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard, the Raps have jumped out to a 16-8 start. Toronto is currently fifth in the East and is looking to add more talent.
In this trade, the Raptors would give up 34-year-old Marc Gasol in exchange for a prime Tristan Thompson and a rising star in Cedi Osman. Both Thompson and Osman would fit nicely with this Raptors squad and would become instant fan favorites with their heart and hustle.
Gasol is a nice addition to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Ranking as one of the worst defensive teams in the league, the former Defensive Player of the Year should manage to improve things a bit.
Most importantly, the Cavaliers snag a future first-round pick from Toronto. This pick can prove to be valuable as the Cavs continue to build through the draft.
