The bright side

After they face the LA Clippers, the Minnesota Timberwolves look down a long stretch of fairly winnable games.

The start will probably still bring some rocky waters, as they have to face the New Orleans Pelicans, Denver Nuggets and Portland Trail Blazers, but after those games the toughest opponent that Minnesota will face would be Portland again, after almost a month of games.

The stretch will give the Timberwolves a time to recover. When the Trail Blazers come to town on Jan. 9, the Timberwolves could easily have a record of 20-16 and in a worst-case scenario it’s hard to see them falling below 16-20, which is a record that could easily be fixed by a team who has one of the easiest schedules in the NBA after that.

With this stretch, the Timberwolves should be able to keep their heads above water, at least for the time being.
