. 4-12. Previous: . Atlanta Hawks. 29. team. 125

Last week: Lost to Milwaukee 135-127, lost at Detroit 128-103, lost to Toronto 119-116

This week: Monday vs. Minnesota, Wednesday at Milwaukee, Friday at Indiana, Saturday at Houston

The Atlanta Hawks played tough in their two home games last week around being hammered at Detroit. That loss to the Pistons could have been viewed as a bit of payback after the Hawks humiliated Detroit on its own floor, spoiling the home opener with a 117-100 romp.

The Hawks had a shot to send the game against the Raptors to overtime Saturday night, but Trae Young‘s deep — really deep — pull-up 3 was off the mark. Atlanta cut an 11-point deficit with 1:38 remaining down to a two-point game with 11.5 seconds to go after De’Andre Hunter made his third straight 3-pointer.

Hunter had a bit of a breakout last week. The rookie posted his first career double-double with career-highs of 27 points and 11 rebounds in the loss to the Bucks on Wednesday and turned around with 26 points on Saturday night — the first two 20-point outings of his career.

For the week, he averaged 23.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 32.9 minutes per game, shooting 54.3 percent overall and draining 10-of-18 from 3-point range, including a 6-for-10 performance from deep in the loss to the Raptors.

Previous: . Memphis Grizzlies. 28. team. 211. . 5-10

Last week: Lost to Golden State 114-95, lost to Lakers 109-108

This week: Monday at Indiana, Wednesday vs. Clippers, Friday vs. Utah

A light week on the schedule turned into a rough week just the same for the Memphis Grizzlies, who were rocked at home by the lowly Warriors (still getting used to those two words going together) before giving the Lakers all they wanted Saturday night.

Memphis has followed up a three-game winning streak with three consecutive losses and will play teams with better-than-.500 records in each of their next three games.

So it goes for a young team still working to build an identity. To that end, No. 2 overall pick Ja Morant put up a rough game against Golden State before coming back to dazzle against the Lakers.

Morant scored 26 points with six assists and a career-high five steals against Los Angeles and finished with week with 46 points, 12 assists, six steals and five rebounds in 73 minutes, shooting 47.2 percent overall while hitting 2-of-5 from 3 and 10-of-12 at the foul line as he continues to establish himself as the player to beat in the Rookie of the Year race.
