After reports of a serious injury, it now appears former NBA star Joakim Noah is ready to join a postseason contender this year.

With the first few games of the NBA season in the books, teams are beginning to recognize their own strengths and weaknesses. For some, that will mean looking externally to fortify their ranks. There are a number of big-name free agents available in the early going of the season, with a new entry to that field in former All-Star center Joakim Noah, who appears ready to play once again.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst recently reported on the availability of Noah, though he also eluded to a serious injury the center had suffered over the summer.

Noah’s no stranger to injuries at this point in his career, something Windhorst’s report only further illustrates. He played in just 42 of 60 games for the Memphis Grizzlies last year after signing with them in early December 2018. He never played a full season with the New York Knicks after signing a blockbuster deal with the franchise.

Last season, he averaged 7.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in his half season with the Grizzlies. Those numbers aren’t worthy of a spot in the starting lineup, but they could be indicative of an important depth role.

Most teams will have to make a roster move to sign Noah to the squad, so there isn’t any immediate rush to make it happen, especially as general managers are still trying to suss out what they have on their respective rosters.

Nevertheless, here are four teams that could use Noah’s services.
