Chicago Bulls. 21. team. 24. . 4-9. Previous:

Last week: Beat New York 120-102, lost at Milwaukee 124-115, lost to Brooklyn 117-111

This week: Monday vs. Milwaukee, Wednesday vs. Detroit, Friday vs. Miami, Saturday at Charlotte

The Chicago Bulls played like a young team last week, hanging around doggedly in games with the Bucks and Nets before finding ways to lose late.

The Bulls did blast the Knicks for their lone win of the week, a game in which rookie Coby White went supernova in the fourth quarter, scoring 23 of his game-high 27 points in the period (outscoring New York by himself 23-17) and helping Chicago break open a game that was tied at 85-85 entering the fourth.

White hit 7-of-8 from 3-point range — in the quarter — en route to setting a new career-high. He followed that up with 26 points at Milwaukee before delivering a clunker against Brooklyn — as rookies are prone to doing occasionally. For the week, he averaged 20.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.7 steals, shooting 40.0 percent overall and 45.2 percent on 10.3 deep tries a night.

Chicago has been without Otto Porter Jr. for the last four games, with no end in sight, as he is dealing with a bruised left foot. Chicago also lost reserve big Cristiano Felicio for one to two months after he broke his right wrist during a practice.

team. 64. . 4-9. Previous: . Detroit Pistons. 20

Last week: Lost to Minnesota 120-114, lost at Miami 117-108, lost at Charlotte 109-106

This week: Wednesday at Chicago, Friday vs. Atlanta, Saturday at Milwaukee

After an 0-3 week, the Detroit Pistons have lost four games in a row and five of their last six, which takes some of the feel-good off Blake Griffin‘s return against the Timberwolves on Monday after he had missed the first 10 games of the season. He was held out on the back end of a back-to-back on Tuesday, but returned Friday in Charlotte.

Griffin is showing some rust — in 27 minutes a game, he’s averaging 19.0 points, 6.0 assists and 5.0 rebounds, but he’s only shooting 38.7 percent overall and has hit just two of his first 11 attempts from 3-point range. Some players come back like Paul George. For others, it’s a process.

Langston Galloway continues to play well off the bench for the Pistons, dropping a career-high 32 points in the loss to the Hornets on Friday. He’s scored in double figures in Detroit’s last nine games after not doing so once in the first four games of the season.

Last week, Galloway averaged 20.3 points and 2.0 rebounds in 30.4 minutes per game as a reserve, shooting 55.3 percent overall and draining a scorching-hot 13-for-25 (52.0 percent) from deep.
