3. Avery Bradley to miss 1-2 weeks with leg injury

Through the early part of the 2019-20 season, Avery Bradley has been one of the most valuable (and underrated) pieces of the Los Angeles Lakers roster. An excellent on-ball defender and sneaky scoring threat, he’s been exactly what the team was hoping for when they signed him.

Unfortunately, a few games may go by before we see him on the floor again for Los Angeles.

It’s obviously a disappointing development for the Lakers and Bradley, who has started all 10 of the games he’s played this season. During that time, he’s averaged 9.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game. More importantly, though, he’s been pivotal in the Lakers’ emergence as a top-tier defensive team.

Considering the relatively low degree of severity of the injury, it’s a lucky break for the Lakers. They’ve powered through a handful of early season maladies, but yet again avoid a long-term issue with Bradley.

It’s worth noting that the one game Bradley previously missed was against the less-than-impressive Chicago Bulls. In that game, the Lakers uncharacteristically fell behind early, requiring a second-half comeback to seal the victory.

Let’s hope for Los Angeles’ sake they avoid repeat performances during Bradley’s absence.
