1. Dennis Smith Jr.
This may seem like an inhumane thing to write about as Dennis Smith Jr. tragically suffered a loss in his family three games into the season.
Whether you deny it or not, Smith played terribly in the first three games of the season prior to his bereavement.
Most people expected a breakout season from him but instead, they have been getting a total catastrophe so far. In those games, Smith has taken 11 shots, making just one of those.
His struggling has even allowed his teammate Frank Ntilikina to step up and earn the team’s starting point guard spot. In Smith’s absence, the French Prince has flourished, helping the Knicks with his insane defensive prowess.
As said before, it is incredibly unfair to judge a player after just 3 bad games. But then again, we are just nine games into the season, way too early for us to have a cross-section.
Let’s just hope that Smith comes back even stronger.
