3 New York Knicks that are underperforming
2. Julius Randle
New York Knicks fans, it gets even worse.
The team’s “big” free agency signing has appeared unable to lead the Knicks to victories thus far and some might even say that he is a key reason to explain the team’s losses.
Julius Randle‘s transition to the Eastern Conference has been far from smooth. He went from being the league’s 19th-highest scorer in 2018-19 to being the 67th-highest scorer, just getting to the 15 points per game mark.
Randle is racking turnover after turnover, most of them being out of pure ignorance and not the result of a great defensive play. He has a total of 37 turnovers and is tied for fifth in the league with 4.1 giveaways per game. And this is no category you’d want to be a part of.
According to Basketball Reference’s Value over Replacement statistic, Randle appears to be in the bottom three in the entire league among players on an $18 million contract or higher.

Julius Randle has shown some bright spots to start off the season. For instance, his rebounding is better than ever. But he has a long way to go until he is able to justify that huge contract of his.
