Despite a “disappointing” loss to their “rivals” to tip things off, it’s been nothing but beautiful basketball and overflowing hype since then. The Lakers are 6-1, atop the Western Conference with expectations rising as the wins pile up.
While expectations for the club have bloated to ridiculous levels already, there are a handful of players who are already surprising fans and foes alike with their performances. Today, I’m going to list three players who fall into this category and detail why they’ve already been better than advertised.
Now keep in mind, these players all came into the 2019-20 campaign with vastly different expectations. One of them was already slated for a significant role, one was seen as little more than end-of-the-bench depth and one was just hoping to prove he was worthy of an opportunity to wear the purple and gold (again).
Any way you look at it, they’ve gone above and beyond through the first few games.
