3. Why it will continue: The schedule
The Minnesota Timberwolves are looking at one of the easiest schedules in the NBA. They’ve already survived the early part of their schedule, which was one of the hardest in the league. Through these first six games, the Timberwolves have had the sixth-hardest schedule in the NBA.
However, the Timberwolves are now looking at the 12th-easiest schedule in the league going forward.
Now, this isn’t as promising for Minnesota as it might seem at the outset; they’ve had some of the easiest schedules in the league for the past five years now and yet they’ve failed to crack the playoffs in four of those five years.
However, the difference between those years and this year is the team that has been built in Minnesota. There doesn’t seem to be any major contentions between teammates like there has been since the 2014-15 season. Everybody seems to know their role and the team is running like a well-oiled machine at this point.
The Timberwolves are also looking at a great opportunity to rebuild that lost momentum from the Bucks game, as their next 10 games is possibly the easiest 10-game stretch of the season, possibly across the league.
