1. Charlotte Hornets: Cole Anthony, PG, North Carolina

Cole Anthony starts the season as not only the top guard prospect available, but the first player off the board overall.

There are plenty of concerns that skeptics have about his game regarding leadership and decision making.

While Anthony’s scoring arsenal and athleticism are undeniable, there are enough times where he decides to go into hero mode when it’s not required.

He’s been susceptible to tunnel vision in the past, but putting him here is a bet he’ll receive quality coaching from Roy Williams at UNC that’ll encourage him to share the ball on the break and get others more involved.

The jumper has also been streaky in the high school and AAU ranks, but there’s nothing too mechanically off. Sure Anthony could stand to tweak his release point a tad and quicken his overall motion, but it’s comfortable for him and he does get elevation on the shot.

Anthony is the son of former NBA great Greg Anthony, so his basketball IQ and competitive nature  along with a productive season should propel him enough and give him hold over the top draft spot for the time being.
