Cole Anthony atop lottery prospects for 2020 NBA Draft
11. Atlanta Hawks: Scottie Lewis, F, Florida
Scottie Lewis has flown under the radar incredibly as he arrives ready to make an impact at Florida.
Actually, maybe it’s not a surprise he hasn’t been talked about as much in the national scouting spotlight.
Sure Lewis can score in a variety of ways and put points on the board reliably, but there’s so much more to his game than getting a bucket.
He’s a willing passer and secondary ball handler, and he’s tough as nails from a competitive perspective on both ends of the floor.
Lewis is that wing who will dive for loose balls and put his body on the line to make a play at the ball. Defensively he may not have the overall lateral quickness to put himself in the “lockdown” category, but he doesn’t let others push him around, even when he has to guard up a position or two and play in the post.
He may look lanky, but Lewis has that wiry strength that few players with his frame have.
At the college level, Lewis will absolutely make his case heard for a lottery selection. If he improves his jump shot and finds ways to keep remaining active in the scoring department, he should have no problem hearing his name called early on draft night.
