Previous: . Detroit Pistons. 19. team. 64. . 3-4

Last week: Won vs. Indiana 96-94, lost at Toronto 124-113, lost at Chicago 112-105, won vs. Brooklyn 113-109

This week: Monday at Washington, Wednesday vs. New York, Friday at Indiana

The banged-up Detroit Pistons took care of business at home and lost a pair of road games in a 2-2 week.

The Pistons did not have Tim Frazier or Derrick Rose in Saturday’s win over the Nets, haven’t had Blake Griffin for a game yet this season (he could be back this week) and Reggie Jackson will miss at least a month with a stress reaction in his lower back.

Second-year man Bruce Brown provided a spark for Detroit on Saturday, playing a career-high 40 minutes and dropping a career-best 22 points while also matching his career-high with seven assists. Brown had started the first three games of the season before coming off the bench for the next three. He was back with the first five on Saturday.

Andre Drummond, meanwhile, is playing like a man possessed — 22.1 points, 18.7 rebounds, 2.6 blocks, 2.4 assists and 1.6 steals in 35.7 minutes per game while shooting 61.0 percent overall and hitting 64.3 percent at the line, which would be a career-best for the player who once was a target of opponents’ bang-a-Drumm strategy to put him at the stripe.

125. . 2-3. Previous: . Atlanta Hawks. 18. team

Last week: Lost to Philadelphia 105-103, lost at Miami 112-97, lost to Miami 106-97

This week: Tuesday vs. San Antonio, Wednesday vs. Chicago, Friday vs. Sacramento, Sunday at Portland

It did not take long for the shine to come off the 2-0 start by the Atlanta Hawks.

The Hawks lost Trae Young to a sprained ankle in their two-point loss to the 76ers on Monday and then took back-to-back losses to the Heat. Young is expected to miss at least a couple of weeks and the problem has been compounded by Evan Turner, who had been eating the backup minutes at the point, missing the last two games with a sore Achilles.

De’Andre Hunter, the fourth overall pick acquired by the Hawks from the Pelicans after he was shipped to New Orleans by the Lakers as part of the Anthony Davis sweepstakes, did his part in the loss to Philadelphia, scoring 14 points and a career-high nine rebounds in 30 minutes.

The two games against Miami were not as sterling, as his combined total for the home-and-home was eight points on 3-for-17 shooting. Riding with rookies lends itself to this sort of thing.

Indiana Pacers. 17. team. 100. . 3-3. Previous:

Last week: Lost at Detroit 96-94, won at Brooklyn 118-108, won vs. Cleveland 102-95, won vs. Chicago 108-95

This week: Tuesday at Charlotte, Wednesday vs. Washington, Friday vs. Detroit, Sunday at Orlando

The Indiana Pacers followed up an 0-3 start with three consecutive wins, including getting a 108-95 victory over the Bulls without starting bigs Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis.

Turner is out after spraining his right ankle in the victory at Brooklyn on Wednesday, while Sabonis is day-to-day with a calf contusion he picked up in Friday’s win over the Cavaliers

This is while the Pacers are still waiting for Victor Oladipo to return from the ruptured quad tendon he sustained last January. Promising young guard Edmond Sumner is out for a minimum of three weeks with a broken right hand.

T.J. Warren stepped up on Sunday against Chicago with his highest-scoring game as a Pacer, dropping 26 points on 10-of-16 shooting to go with five rebounds and three assists. Warren is now averaging 15.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 34.6 minutes per game while shooting 43.8 percent overall.

But the 3-point touch is still elusive. He was 1-for-4 Sunday to improve to 2-for-16 on the season. Warren shot 42.8 percent from 3 last season for the Suns.
