2. Post Play

One of the major concerns coming into this game was that the Timberwolves would be playing with their star player in Karl-Anthony Towns. Coming into this one, coach Ryan Saunders noted that it would take an entire team output for the Timberwolves to pull away from this one with a win.

To the team’s credit, they did just that. The post squad in Minnesota stepped up and played a great game. The entire post squad on the Timberwolves went 18-of-23 from the field, and recorded 21 rebounds, seven blocks and had an average real plus/minus of +10.2.

Obviously, an outing like this can’t be expected every night, but if the other big men on the team can play at this level during down games from Towns, the Wolves will be in a good position to put up a challenge to just about any other team not just in the Western Conference, but in the NBA as a whole.
