The Cavaliers posted one of the worst defensive ratings in NBA history last year as the team finished with a measly 19 wins. Cleveland had nowhere to go but up from this scenario.
The Cavaliers front office went to work in the offseason. The franchise felt as if they succeeded in the summer after selecting three players in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft.
The additions of Darius Garland, Kevin Porter Jr. and Dylan Windler were sure to help the squad. However, nobody expected this team to click as quickly as they have.
There is no doubt that this team has a ton of room for improvement, but their 2-3 start to the season is cause for optimism. Cleveland has been competitive in each game and has already shown more energy than in the year prior.
